Why We Exist
Graduating high school is only the beginning of the challenge for many young adults in the Dominican Republic.
A student may have the grades, ambition, and discipline to succeed — yet still be unable to enroll in university or vocational training because their family cannot afford tuition.
Without financial support, students often postpone their studies, take on unsustainable work, or leave education altogether.
Milagro’s Hope helps close that gap by contributing toward tuition and surrounding students with encouragement, mentorship, and career guidance so they can continue moving toward graduation and employment.
What We Do

In Loving Memory of Milagro Taveras
Milagros “Millie” Taveras was a vibrant, joyful young woman whose life was cut short at 18 due to a rare childhood cancer. She was an athlete, a scholar, and a light to everyone who knew her — known for her kindness, determination, and the way she encouraged others to keep going no matter the challenge.
During her battle, Millie showed extraordinary resilience and faith. Even in the hardest moments, she remained hopeful and focused on her dreams. Her strength inspired everyone around her, and her life continues to remind us that purpose is not defined by circumstances, but by the courage to keep moving forward.
Milagro’s Hope was created in her memory — a way to carry forward her spirit of hope, perseverance, and compassion. By opening doors for young adults who dream of a brighter future, we honor Millie’s legacy and ensure that her light continues to shine through every student we support.
